The Promise to Oklahoma:
Website Development, Content & SEO for a Statewide Healthcare Resource

The Challenge

The Oklahoma Hospital Association set out to build something Oklahoma had never had in one place: a clear, public resource where anyone could compare hospital prices, check quality data, find financial assistance, and understand how their local hospitals give back. The Promise to Oklahoma needed to turn a large amount of complex healthcare information into something an everyday Oklahoman could actually navigate — and it needed to be found by the people who need it most.

I handled the web development, content, and SEO to bring that vision online. The brand already existed; my job was to build the site that could carry it and make the information genuinely accessible.

What I Delivered

Working directly with the team, I focused on three things:
  • WordPress website design and development
  • Content creation and information architecture
  • SEO strategy and on-page optimization

Turning Complex Information Into a Usable Resource

The heart of this project was structure. Price transparency and healthcare resources only work if people can find what they need without friction, so I organized the site around five clear paths — Hospital Prices, Hospital Quality Data, Community Benefit, Financial Assistance, and Stories. Each section takes dense source material and presents it in plain, navigable terms, with a content approach built to inform rather than overwhelm. The result is a site a patient, a caregiver, or a policymaker can all use with equal ease.

Content & SEO Built for a Public Mission

For a public-service resource, being findable is part of the mission. I wrote and structured the site’s content around the questions real Oklahomans ask — how to check a procedure’s price, where to find help with a medical bill, how their local hospital serves the community — and optimized every page to surface those answers in search. The goal wasn’t just traffic; it was to connect people with information that helps them make empowered healthcare decisions.

Focused Web Development, Start to Finish

This project played to a specific part of what I do: building and optimizing WordPress websites that have to work hard. No handoffs, no junior developers — just one person responsible for the build, the content, and the search performance, working directly with the client from planning through launch.

Need a website that works as hard as your mission?

Whether it’s a public resource or a growing business, a great site starts with clear structure, strong content, and SEO built in from the ground up. That’s what I do — I build and optimize WordPress sites myself, from planning through launch: one developer, direct communication, no pressure.
