Building a Brand from the Ground Up

Patriot Ready Mix came to me at a turning point. The business was established and running—but under new ownership and a new name, with no brand to match. No logo, no messaging, no website that reflected who they’d become. A strong operation with a fresh identity to build and a market that didn’t yet know them by name.

Their edge is volumetric concrete. Instead of arriving with a pre-mixed load that starts curing on the drive over, their trucks mix on-site, computer-calibrated to the exact specs of each pour; for the customer, that means less waste, tighter tolerances, and no paying for concrete that sets up before it’s used. But a technical advantage only matters if the market understands it — and understanding starts with a brand that can carry the message.

The new ownership needed the brand built to match the business they’d acquired — from the name up. That’s the work I do best.

The Approach

The Logo

I started with a custom logo that ties two ideas together: Oklahoma roots and a “Made in the USA” patriotic identity that fits the Patriot name. The mark works a concrete swirl into the design — a direct nod to the on-site mixing process that sets them apart. It reads clearly at a glance, holds up on everything from a truck door to an embroidered cap, and means something specific about how this company works rather than being decoration.

Market Research & Messaging

Before writing a word of website copy, I ran a comprehensive research and onboarding process to find the language the market actually uses. That work surfaced the specific keywords, questions, and phrasing that a contractor or builder types in when they’re looking for ready-mix concrete — and defined how Patriot should talk about volumetric mixing in terms a buyer immediately gets. This is the step most brand projects skip, and it’s why most brand projects don’t rank.

The Website

With the positioning and keyword research locked, I built a WordPress site engineered to be found. The messaging was structured around the terms buyers search, the on-page SEO was built in from the first page rather than bolted on later, and the design carried the brand’s identity across desktop and mobile. The result is front-page search visibility for a strong set of high-value keywords — a site that does marketing work every day, not just a digital brochure.

Beyond the Screen

The brand carried into the physical world where a concrete company actually meets its customers: full vehicle wrap design for the fleet, and branded apparel including embroidered caps. Every touchpoint pulls from one consistent system, so the truck on the job site and the site on the phone read as the same company.

The Result

Patriot Ready Mix was delivered a cohesive brand—logo, messaging, website, fleet graphics, and apparel—built as one system. The website ranks on the first page for high-value keywords in a competitive construction category, putting the company in front of buyers actively searching.

From naming, logo, research, and messaging to an SEO-focused website and the print and vehicle branding that carries it into the field, every piece was designed to work together.
