Heroes in Waiting:
Complete Brand Identity for an Oklahoma Anti-Bullying Nonprofit

The Challenge

Heroes in Waiting is an Oklahoma nonprofit built to fight the bullying epidemic in schools and communities. Its founders came to me needing more than a logo — they needed a complete, credible brand that could stand up in front of school administrators, donors, and students on day one. As a newly launched organization, first impressions were everything. I built the entire visual identity and marketing system from the ground up, working directly with their team through every decision.

The organization delivers free anti-bullying curriculum for youth alongside live assembly events originally led by Malcolm Tubbs, the Oklahoma City Thunder’s half-time hype man. My job was to give that mission a look and voice worthy of the work.

What I Delivered

Working one-on-one with the Heroes in Waiting team, I designed and produced a full brand and marketing system:

  • Logo design and brand identity
  • Brand guidelines and logo usage standards
  • Responsive WordPress website design and development
  • Email marketing templates and campaigns
  • Trade show and event booth design
  • Print collateral, brochures, and curriculum design
  • Social media graphics and banners

Building a Brand That Earns Trust

For a nonprofit asking schools to open their doors and donors to open their wallets, credibility is the whole game. I developed a logo and identity system that reads clearly at any size — from a business card to a trade show banner — and documented it in a usage chart, so the brand stays consistent no matter who applies it. Every piece, from the assembly banners to the curriculum covers, was designed to feel like it came from a single, confident, established organization.

WordPress Website Built to Convert

I designed and built the Heroes in Waiting website on WordPress, structured around the brand system and optimized for the two things the organization needed most: program sign-ups and donations. The responsive design adapts cleanly from desktop to phone, with dedicated pages for the curriculum, bullying statistics, partners, and a streamlined donation flow.

One Designer, Every Touchpoint

Because I handled the logo, website, print, email, and event materials myself, everything stayed cohesive — no handoffs, no drift between vendors, no piece that felt off-brand. That consistency is what made a brand-new nonprofit look established from launch, and it’s what I bring to every organization I work with.
