Build a Brand That Does the Selling for You
Your brand is more than a logo. It’s how your business looks, sounds, and feels to a customer at every point of contact. Since 1997, I’ve helped Oklahoma City businesses build branding that’s strategic, cohesive, and made to grow — working with you directly from first conversation to final guidelines.
More Than a Logo — a Strategy for How Your Business Is Seen
A logo is only one element of a brand, and the branding strategy is the underlying thought process that determines who you serve, what you stand for, how you communicate, and why a customer should select you rather than the business next door. If that foundation is missing, then even a beautifully designed logo is merely decorative. But with that foundation in place, all design choices — regarding color, typeface, tone of voice, and imagery — will be aimed in the same direction and will actually serve a purpose.
I’ve been helping Oklahoma City businesses build brands that hold up since 1997. Not trend-chasing that looks dated in a few years, but clear, durable positioning that still makes sense as you grow. When I build your brand strategy, I’m deciding how your business shows up everywhere it’s seen — your website, your signage, your social feed, the business card you hand across a table.

What a Branding Strategy Engagement Includes
- Discovery and positioning. I start with where you are, who you’re competing against, and the customer you most want to reach. This is the foundation on which everything else is built.
- Messaging framework. The core language of your brand — what you say first, how you describe what you do, and the tone that carries across every touchpoint.
- Visual identity system. Logo, color palette, typography, and the rules for using them, so your brand looks consistent whether it’s on a phone screen or a storefront.
- Brand guidelines. A clear document that keeps your brand consistent as other people — printers, employees, vendors — start using it.
- Application. How the system comes to life across your website, print materials, and marketing, so the strategy doesn’t stay on paper.

Why I Work Strategy-First
Most businesses contact me requesting a logo or a website. What they need, however, is the thinking that comes before deciding on either. If you design without a strategy, the result may look fine but will not advance the business because no one has decided what it is meant to achieve.
Adopting a strategy focused on planning from the start leads to fewer unnecessary revisions, a brand that aligns with the business rather than opposes it, and design decisions you can justify because they come from a specific decision rather than a hunch. It is the difference between a business that debates which logo “looks better” and one that clearly knows its target audience and what it needs to communicate.
Because I handle everything myself without account managers, junior designers, or passing tasks around, the strategy and design stay linked. The person who established your positioning also designed your logo and built your website. Nothing gets lost in translation.

FAQs
Common Questions About Branding Strategy
What’s the difference between branding and a logo?
A logo is a mark; branding is the whole system and the strategy behind it. Your logo is the most visible piece, but your brand is how your business looks, sounds, and feels everywhere a customer encounters it — your website, your print materials, your social presence, even how you answer the phone. I help you build the strategy first, then design the logo and visual system to match it.
Do I need branding strategy, or just a logo?
It depends on where your business is. If you need a single mark for a straightforward project, a logo may be enough. But if you’re launching, repositioning, or trying to look more established than your competitors, a strategy-first approach will save you money — because it helps prevent the expensive cycle of redesigning work that was headed in the wrong direction. I’ll be honest with you about which approach your situation actually calls for.
How much does a branding strategy package cost?
Full brand strategy engagements start at $4,000 and range upward from there depending on scope — how many deliverables you need, how complex your market is, and how much application work is involved. Every project is quoted individually after a discovery conversation, so you know the number before we begin.
How long does a branding project take?
A full brand identity will usually take four to six weeks, depending on how quickly feedback comes in and how many rounds of revisions we go through. Strategy work happens up front; design follows once we’ve agreed on direction. I give you a clear timeline at the start.
Will I work with you directly, or with a team?
Directly, always. There’s no account manager, no junior designer, and no handoff. The person who defines your positioning is the same person who designs your identity and builds your materials. Since 1997, that direct relationship is how I’ve assisted business owners — and it’s why so many of my clients have stayed for ten, fifteen, even twenty years.
Can you rebrand an existing business?
Yes. A rebrand honors what your business has already built while updating how it looks and communicates. I start by understanding the recognition your current brand carries, then design a system that feels evolved without feeling unfamiliar to your existing customers. If a full rebrand is what you’re after, that’s a service I offer as its own engagement.
What do I actually receive at the end?
A complete brand system: your positioning and messaging framework, a logo and full visual identity, a color palette and typography system, and a brand guidelines document that keeps everything consistent as other people begin using it. You own all of it outright.
Do you work with businesses outside Oklahoma City?
Yes. Most of my clients are across the OKC metro, but I work with businesses throughout Oklahoma and beyond. The entire process can run remotely with video calls and shared previews, and you get the same direct, one-on-one attention wherever you’re located.
